Listen to Psalm 69:19-28, Romans 3:21-31

19You know (A)my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor;
My adversaries are all before You.
20Reproach has broken my heart,
And I am full of [a]heaviness;
(B)I looked for someone to take pity, but there was none;
And for (C)comforters, but I found none.
21They also gave me gall for my food,
(D)And for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

22(E)Let their table become a snare before them,
And their well-being a trap.
23(F)Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see;
And make their loins shake continually.
24(G)Pour out Your indignation upon them,
And let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.
25(H)Let their dwelling place be desolate;
Let no one live in their tents.
26For they persecute the ones (I)You have struck,
And talk of the grief of those You have wounded.
27(J)Add iniquity to their iniquity,
(K)And let them not come into Your righteousness.
28Let them (L)be blotted out of the book of the living,
(M)And not be written with the righteous.

God’s Righteousness Through Faith

21But now (A)the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, (B)being witnessed by the Law (C)and the Prophets, 22even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all [a]and on all who believe. For (D)there is no difference; 23for (E)all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified [b]freely (F)by His grace (G)through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God set forth (H)as a [c]propitiation (I)by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over (J)the sins that were previously committed, 26to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Boasting Excluded

27(K)Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28Therefore we conclude (L)that a man is [d]justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. 29Or is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30since (M)there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
