One of my favorite ways to get inspired is to look at graduation party inspiration. Below are some of the ways to do just that.
Think about what kind of theme you might want for the grad party. Themes might include high school colors, future college school colors or a theme based on a school activity or sports.
Buy decorations to match the colors of the theme.
Consider purchasing decorations with the graduation year.
Think about where you want to host the party. At your home, inside or outdoors, in a park or an indoor party venue.

Graduation Party Food Ideas:
Once you have some of the initial items above figured out, it will be time to consider what you will serve at the party. Most graduation parties tend to be more like an open house. Kids and families will stop in for a while but will probably have other parties to attend on the same day.
Serve appetizers and snacks for the first hour as the party gets started.
Don’t forget the drinks. Have plenty of bottled water on hand as well as several non-alcoholic drinks for the kids. Serving a signature summer co*cktail, wine and beer for adults is also appropriate.
Select recipes that can be made a day or two ahead of the party and can be popped into the oven or served right from the fridge.
It is also a great idea to have some of the main dish foods prepared by a caterer. So much easier on you!
Purchase a cake or cupcakes from a local bakery and add decorative party picks to go along with your graduation party theme.

It can be planned for directly after the graduation or held a few days (even weeks) afterward. Typically you do not host this party prior to graduation. This party can be structured as a typical party (about 2-4 hours) with a start time or as an open house where guests can come and go as they please.
Distant relatives or friends usually send around $15 - $20, while close friends and relatives more commonly send around the $20 - $50 mark. Some families and family friends may choose to spend closer to $100 - $500, depending on their finances and the needs of the graduate.
If your graduation ceremony is at 2 p.m., a 10 a.m. to noon or a 4-7 p.m. open house may work best. The time of day you select will also help determine the type of food and beverage you serve. If your party begins at 10 a.m. you may want to serve breakfast or brunch items.
Celebrate the end of the school year by whipping up some of our favorite party-ready graduation foods to earn you an A+ with your guests, like Nashville hot chicken dip, sheet-pan Italian subs, and a copycat Dairy Queen ice cream cake for dessert.
When it comes to high school graduation gifts, it's best to keep things modest. A good range to consider is: $20 - $50: For acquaintances or distant relatives. $50 - $100: For close friends and immediate family members.
3-4 weeks is pretty standard for event invitations, especially in today's busy world. Sending early is especially important for high school graduation invites because so many parties can occur on the same day. You want to ensure that guests get your party on the calendar right away.
Typically a graduation party will have one guest of honor with a set timeframe of 2-4 hours and specific guest list. Your guests include immediate family, the graduate's friends, friends' parents, extended family, favorite teachers or coaches from over the years, coworkers of both the parents and the graduate.
