CARE THEY NEED NOW. LIKE ME AND MY MOM, WE DON’T HAVE TO WORRY IF HE’S GOING TO GET SICK. MEET BENJI, SHOOT IT IN AND THEN HE’S VACCINATED. THIS FLUFFY WHITE DOG IS GETTING HIS VACCINE BY MOUTH. I KNOW FRIEND, WE DO HAVE A NEED THAT THE VACCINATIONS ARE PROVIDED AT A LOWER COST AND $10 IS PRETTY REASONABLE. AND THE RABIES IS WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE LICENSED IN STANISLAUS COUNTY, THE LOVE CLINIC IS OFFERING LOW COST SPAY AND NEUTER PROCEDURES, VACCINES AND MICROCHIPS FOR BOTH DOGS AND CATS. HERE’S HOW IT WORKS. AND INJECT IT INTO THE BOTTLE. BLOW OUT THE AIR IN THE SYRINGE AND THEN DRAW ALL THE WAY BACK TILL IT’S ONE MILLILITER. BECAUSE THAT’S THE DOSAGE FOR IT. WE DEFINITELY HAVE AN OVER PET POPULATION AND IT’S OVERWHELMING. PEOPLE CAN’T AFFORD TO FEED THEM OR KEEP THEM AND UM, SO THIS COUNTY ACTUALLY IN OUR, THE COUNTY JURISDICTION, YOU’RE ONLY CAN HAVE FOUR ADULT DOGS. SO THAT’S ALSO ANOTHER THING TO KEEP IN MIND. AND IF YOUR ANIMAL SPAYED OR NEUTERED THEN YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BE ADDING TO THE POPULATION. AMY HOLLOWAY BROUGHT IN BOTH HER DOGS TO GET THEIR SHOTS. FIRST UP IS SOPHIA. OH, AND GIVE A SUBCUTANEOUS INJECTION DOWN HERE. THEN IT WAS STEVIE’S TURN. OKAY. YOU WANT TO GET UP? YOU WANT TO. IF YOU WANT TO HOLD HER VACCINES FOR YOUR PETS ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS VACCINES FOR YOURSELF. AND YOU KNOW, IF YOU WANT YOUR PET TO LIVE LONGEVITY, THEN VACCINES ARE THE WAY TO GO. AND ALL WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK. I THINK IT’S A REALLY GOOD OPTION WITH THE WAY THE ECONOMY IS AND PRICES AND, UM, JUST BEING ABLE TO HAVE A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN AFFORD AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR PETS, YOU KNOW, THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THEM IS AMAZING. IT’LL GIVE THEM MORE REASSURANCE THAT THEIR PETS ARE HEALTHY AND THEY DON’T HAVE TO SPEND, LIKE, A LOT OF EXTRA MONEY THAT THEY DON’T HAVE FOR VACCINES IN CERES. I’M ANAHITA JAFARI, KCRA THREE NEWS. WELL, THAT CLINIC IS OPEN WEDNESDAY THROU

Low cost veterinary care clinic opens in Stanislaus County
Pets can feel like members of the family, and getting affordable access to the care they need can be important.
Pets can feel like members of the family, and getting affordable access to the care they need can be important. On Wednesday, the Stanislaus Animal Services Agency's (SASA) LOVE clinic began offering low-cost spay/neuter procedures, vaccines, and microchips for both dogs and cats.“We definitely have an over-pet population and it's overwhelming," said Connie Hooker with SASA. "People can't afford to feed them or keep them and so it's county actually, and our, the county jurisdiction, you only can have four adult dogs. So that's also another thing to keep in mind and if you're animal spayed or neutered, then you're not going to be adding to the population.”Owners brought in their pets all day to get vaccinated. "I think it's a really good option with the way the economy is and prices and, just being able to have a place where you can afford and take care of your pets, you know, the way they should be taken care of is amazing," said Amy Holloway, who owns two dogs. The goal is for residents to help their furry friends without breaking the bank. “We do have, a need that the vaccinations are provided at a lower cost and $10 is pretty reasonable. And the rabies is what is required to be licensed in Stanislaus county.” Spay or neutering rates are $25 for cats and $50 for dogs. The LOVE Clinic is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Pet owners can schedule appointments here.See more coverage of top California stories here | Download our app | Subscribe to our morning newsletter
