How about after several years we get the Tap-LED to blink in the actual tempo? I still get crazy random blinking from it.
I really could need it to blink in the tempo of the Rig i programmed in, so i know the tempo before starting the song (for example with havey time-based delays)
i can't belive it's still not working.

This has been brought up numerous times over the years.
Just search the thread history.
Tap Tempo
Tap button blinking irregularly
What about this frantic TAP tempo LED?
How to get the tempo light on the remote to flash in tempo?
Tap Tempo blinking out of sync
Tap Tempo not consistent after 5.7.2 update ???
I think its safe to say if it could be fixed it would have been done by now.
Unfortunately its something you learn to live with, a bit like hair-loss.

i know that its been demanded several times before. that's what makes it even worse.
and I'm not happy with not even getting a response from Kemper.
Technically it can't be that difficult. I'm a software engineer myself.
after rechecking some of the previous posts, kemper commented it and its not any close to being satisfying:
Quote
this is not a hardware problem at all, it is 100% software: but it is relatively low on the priority list to solve.it can be solved in several ways, but as said already: it has low priority right now atm, and we have to use our available software development capacity wise
in other words: they can't make money out of it and give a sh*t about the hundreds of complaints about this issue.
a no-go to me. The Profiler is a Product that is used in a lot of professional events. if you know about a problem and know several ways to solve it, you f*cking do it. one point to check off the list. not understandable and not german at all

like you, I find it strange that something so useful and so simple hasn’t been fixed yet. However, i definitely don’t agree with you making money comment. Kemper have shown time and time again tht they are happy to continue developing the KPA and provide all the benefits to existing user at no additional cost. I think the simple reality is that there were so many people screaming for an editor that it got prioritised above everything else.

So, why does it even blink then?
Sorry, this is simply annoying and unexpected behavior for a high profile piece of equipment like this.
Please fix this.
- March 4, 2020 at 11:11 PM
I figured it out. It's blinking in Morse Code. When decoded, it translates to "we gave you the editor, forget about the light".
- March 5, 2020 at 7:37 AM
Well, when i first got the Kemper and connected it to my computer/rig manager i was quite surprised, that there was no Editor or anything similar.
Axe-FX has had it quite some time, so I expected the Kemper would have had an Editor right from the Beginning. Because it is quite simple to build, technically. You just need a GUI which is implemented over the remote connection to the Kemper.
Basically an SSH connection with GUI or an RDP.Enough of technical talk -
The LED is a bug that's easy to fix and they should have gotten aware of it before the actual realease of the Kemper...
I don't know - it's kind of like Porsche designs a new car and the speedometer shows random speed, no matter how fast you are going.

Being a software developer yourself, you should know that sometimes even a bug looking easy to fix is not so trivial and can require large behind the scenes changes. Even if you know what to do, you can choose to invest the man power required elsewhere. I agree that it would be a nice to have, but I don't mind if they add other features before.

Yes, but it's 9 years! Since 9 years every new user is at least confused about that and thinking of user error first
- March 5, 2020 at 1:47 PM
Yeah, gotta agree with the 9 years part though. My guess is that developer time was very limited in the beginning and this problem was forgotten over time.

a (newer) comment from Kemper would be very nice. the last comment is about 3 years ago, saying that they have it on their list but its low in priority...
- March 5, 2020 at 6:06 PM
I seem to recall a comment within the last 12 - 18 months which said it was fixed but unfortunately it turned out not to be so.
- March 5, 2020 at 10:02 PM
it's still on the list, and it's still low priority I'm afraid
:$
(ps: but we'll try to push it up the priority list)
- March 5, 2020 at 10:53 PM
Thanks for the update.
- March 6, 2020 at 9:22 AM
yes, thanks for a comment on it, at last.
it's a shame its still low priority although a lot of users have been requesting a fix for a long time...
- April 9, 2020 at 3:13 PM
Please, push it up !
- April 9, 2020 at 10:36 PM
yeah, up with it!
- April 18, 2020 at 9:41 AM
WOW - my timing is worse than I thought...it seems to blink in time??? Should I be worried?
- April 18, 2020 at 10:42 PM
stop blinking or blink in time please !!
